Description
DREAMY SYNTH POP FROM WASHINGTON, DC
Though cheekily self-described as "moderately danceable," Mystery Friends doesn't want you to sit still. Falling somewhere between Talking Heads and Dua Lipa, the Washington, DC-based band has captivated audiences with high-energy live performances, offering a sound the Washington Post described as "new wave and synth-pop, made timeless with a solid foundation of pop-rock songwriting and the dramatic vocals of frontwoman Abby Sevcik." Celebrating the release of their new EP, Break Your Own Heart, Mystery Friends take you through the cycle: the rush, the drop, the reckoning, and the calm that shows up after you’ve stopped arguing with yourself. The band recorded the tracks with producer and multi-instrumentalist Jordan Lawlor, well-known for his work touring and recording with the band M83. With Jordan’s help, the band continues its exploration of lyrical ennui and propulsive danceable arrangements. Go ahead and make a plan, it all comes together, it all falls apart. Rather than be disappointed that all the best-laid plans have not come to be, the band asks the audience to look for peace in what actually is. The loop continues, but the party can too.

Color Palette is a Washington, DC–based indie dreamgaze band led by songwriter and vocalist Jay Nemeyer. Blending lush, shimmering soundscapes with hook‑driven melodies, the group has shared the stage with artists such as Charli XCX, and its music has been featured across HBO, NBCUniversal, ESPN, and MTV, as well as in campaigns for Volvo and Monster Energy. Their latest release, the Zombie EP (November 2025), deepens Color Palette’s cinematic dreamgaze aesthetic with darker textures and evocative, memorable hooks.
