Description
Uwade is a Nigerian born singer/songwriter out of Charlotte, NC whose emotive voice you may have heard opening Fleet Foxes’ Grammy-nominated album, Shore. Since then, she’s gone on to tour extensively supporting them, as well as the likes of Andrew Bird, Whitney, Jamila Woods, and Kevin Morby. Her debut album Florilegium is a shimmering anthology that finds sweetness and light in sorrow, an amalgamation of disparate influences seamlessly fitting together through her expressive, expansive voice.
Caroline Strickland is an alternative rock artist based in Brooklyn, born in Virginia. Known for her smoked out alto vocals, she creates guitar-driven music that attempts to walk the line between arrogance and tenderness, delivering raw and thoughtful tracks that lure in even the most prudent listener.
MJ Upstairs is a mesmerizing blend of lush vocals, distorted guitars, and hypnotic rhythmic loops that have expanded beyond basement shows into releases like Exhibitionist, This is About You, and b sides. Intimate, anthemic, poetic, all messed up. MJ has carved herself a lyrical niche.
