About Matroda Born Djordje Zdrale in Zagreb, Croatia, Matroda grew up with a deeply musical foundation, taking early influences from Led Zeppelin, Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, Carl Cox, and Justice while receiving classical training in violin, drums, and keyboard. After relocating to Los Angeles to pursue his music career full-time, his 2015 breakthrough came with a remix of SNBRN's California alongside Chris Lake, which charted on Beatport's Top 100 for several weeks and earned support from Diplo, Calvin Harris, and Major Lazer, announcing him as a major force in house music. His 2019 album The Red Tape was named among the best electronic albums of the year, and he followed it with a string of Beatport chart-toppers including Forget It, Disco Tool, which hit number one on the Beatport tech house chart, and Lose Control with Wax Motif.
