About KETTAMA Born Evan Campbell on May 30, 1997, in Galway, Ireland, KETTAMA grew up in a small Atlantic coast city with a punching-above-its-weight musical culture. At 16, he bought a Launchpad that came bundled with a trial version of Ableton and immediately began experimenting, remaking piano parts from hip-hop tracks he loved. Six months later, teaching himself through online forums and downloaded software, he was producing his own tracks and uploading them to SoundCloud. By 17 he was performing at Galway's legendary Carbon club, where he and his close friend and collaborator Shampain held down the backroom for three years, building their craft in front of small but passionate crowds. With few clubs to network through in Ireland, KETTAMA relied on music forums and SoundCloud to share his music internationally, and an unexpected booking inquiry from a promoter in China marked the first turning point in his career. He rose to global prominence in 2018 with the track B O D Y, from his debut EP Bucklyn Bridge on Brooklyn's Homage label, which gained international attention after championing by Mall Grab and Annie Mac. In 2019, he and Shampain co-founded G-Town Records, named after their hometown of Galway, as a platform to release music and support fellow Irish artists. His catalog continued to grow through releases on Shall Not Fade, Steel City Dance Discs, Rinse FM, and Boiler Room appearances, while his sound evolved to incorporate 90s trance, UK garage, and Euro-dance influences alongside his signature sledgehammer house music. In 2023 he performed a sold-out homecoming show at the Galway International Arts Festival, and in 2024 made his debut at Glastonbury, Coachella, and Boomtown. His long-awaited debut album Archangel arrived in October 2025, and he launched a BBC Radio 1 Dance residency the same year. His 2026 singles Comes and Goes and Comes and Goes (Extended) entered the Irish Singles Chart and climbed to number one on the Irish Homegrown Chart, while his summer schedule has included residencies at Amnesia Ibiza alongside Nia Archives and Clouds.
