About Massano Born Sam Rose on the outskirts of Liverpool, England, Massano first discovered electronic music through his father, who played Faithless and The Prodigy during car rides — a spark that wouldn't fully ignite until his university years at Lancaster, where he began teaching himself to produce and DJ while studying. Starting out at house parties and small local clubs, he chose the name Massano by playing with anagrams of his own name, and began building his catalog through releases on Running Clouds, Atlant, and Eleatics. His breakthrough came with his debut Afterlife EP In My System, which topped the Beatport Releases chart and placed all four tracks in the top five of the melodic house and techno chart. Forced to stockpile music during the COVID lockdowns, Massano emerged with a packed catalog and relentless momentum — going from zero gig experience to booking every weekend virtually overnight. His profile skyrocketed further through support from Tale of Us, CamelPhat, Calvin Harris, Adam Beyer, Tiësto, David Guetta, and Fisher, while his own imprint Simulate Recordings — built around a philosophical concept of life as a simulation — became a home for forward-thinking melodic techno talent worldwide, with collaborators including Stephan Bodzin and Argy.
