About THE DEEP
Unique sounds meet unique spaces. A phrase we hold true to our heart. The Deep was born out of what we think a River Bears party should be, fluid & constantly changing in design and structure
Le Youth - Who Are You Really
who are you really? is a line in the sand moment for the LA based Le Youth, a collection of highly emotive songs that are aimed at spotlighting the shared human experience and the tendency for it to be all too frequently forgotten in the online conversation. It is this emotional common ground that he explores throughout the 14 tracks. The notion that we all share some of the same lived reality is one that he hopes can help further expose the societal norm of online cognitive distortion... the belittling of people online, tearing down others and voicing negative opinions without ever truly knowing the human at the focal point of their discontent.
Threaded through the record is a quieter admission: that in asking who we really are, he’s also reckoning with the fear that beyond Le Youth, he isn’t sure he knows himself at all anymore. The album exists somewhere between a personal diary and a quiet self-interrogation, capturing the tension of trying to understand yourself while the world watches . The album’s intimacy, the mundane moments, the messiness and stillness of daily life are all part of the answer he’s searching for; a reminder that identity doesn’t only live on stage but in the unnoticed corners of a day.
On who are you really? Le Youth invites listeners to reflect on their own experiences and how they interact online, all whilst trying to remind us that what binds us together can outshine the divisiveness, as long as we are willing to let it. It’s both a question and a mirror, asking just as much of him as it does of anyone who listens.
