The electronic composer, artist, and biologist Max Cooper has spent the past 15 years exploring the boundaries between music and science, describing his work as a state of freedom. He holds a PhD in computational biology and is simultaneously the first contemporary electronic producer to perform at the ancient Acropolis Theatre in Athens, as well as one of the first musicians to produce in Dolby Atmos.
On his album On Being, released in February, Cooper incorporated thousands of anonymous quotations from his audience and explored the “desperate experience of being human.” In his audiovisual show, the London-based artist delves deeply into this theme through techno and electronica that are hypnotic, yet equally suited to the dance floor.
