About Obscura
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify | Apple Music
With A Sonication, Germany-based metal band Obscura launch the second of their trilogy concept. The group’s second (seventh overall) album for Nuclear Blast pivots on many fronts. Advanced, elegant, and yet refreshing, „A Sonication“ sums up past endeavors effortlessly as it gazes with purpose and conviction into the future. Obscura are fan-renowned and critically acclaimed for challenging and then expanding upon norms. From Retribution (2004) through A Valediction (2021), the band flourished and made significant progress in a musical genre unprepared for a creative shot of German invention. „A Sonication“ spearheads Obscura into a new era of extreme metal. In 2025, Obscura will lighthouse their musical prowess, thematic complexity, and lyrical ambition on „A Sonication“. The group continue to be a beacon for change. No doubt Obscura’s new stats will amaze, but what they’re focused on is the release of „A Sonication“ and then taking it on the road. Several high-caliber tours of Europe, North America, and Asia are planned through to 2025, with routes are in the works for the band to visit Australia, Latin America, and beyond. Truly, there is no band quite like Obscura. "A Sonication“ proves that persistence, perseverance, and enterprising minds can achieve anything. Welcome to the next level!
About Allegaeon
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify | Apple Music
A lot has happened with Allegaeon since the 2022 release of "Damnum", a record called a “triumph” of maximalist modern metal and “technically dazzling yet always in thrall to the uplifting power of melody.” First, the Colorado-based band--who formed in 2008--welcomed back original singer Ezra Haynes as permanent vocalist in November, 2022. Then, after re-signing with Metal Blade Records, the quintet wrote and recorded two blistering brand-new songs–“Inhumation” and “Iridescent” --with longtime producer Dave Otero.
The killer new tracks are precursors of what’s to come when the band enters the studio in 2024 to record its seventh album for Metal Blade. The two new stand-alone singles act as a bridge in Allegaeon's musical history. “Inhumation” has more of a Damnum vibe, whereas “Iridescent” is more reminiscent of Elements Of The Infinite. Musically, both songs were written with an overwhelming sense of anger; Inhumation in soundscape form, and Iridescent in a pure, frantic guitar-driven form.
If Damnum is what happens when “absurdly gifted musicians reach a state of unwavering confidence” as one journalist raved, the band’s next chapter, back with Haynes, and with an unbounded, refreshed creativity, will be unstoppable. “It feels like Allegaeon is becoming the band we were always meant to be,” concludes bassist Brandon Michael. “The chemistry is incredible. Overall, we’re in a very good creative space together.”
About Cognitive
Website | Facebook | Instagram | Spotify | Apple Music
Cognitive, the New Jersey-based technical death metal quintet, returns with Abhorrence, their fifth full-length album and a brutal successor to 2021’s Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction. Known for their unrelenting riffs and intense lyricism, the band crafted Abhorrence while touring, exchanging tracks between gigs. As they hit the road in 2024 to showcase their latest work, Cognitive continues to evolve while staying true to the crushing sound that has defined them for over a decade. Abhorrence serves as both a commentary on a chaotic world and a refreshing yet punishing listening experience.
About Cryptosis
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify | Apple Music
In a metal scene brimming with talent, Dutch heavyweights Cryptosis stood out like a shining diamond from the very start. Commencing their reign of cerebral terror back in 2020, this most distinctive and inventive of metal power trios sent shockwaves through the scene with their monstrous 2021 debut album Bionic Swarm. A raging cyclone of highly evolved extreme metal, it showcased the band’s dystopian vision, introducing the exhilarating sound of three ingenious virtuosos, and standing proudly apart from prevailing trends. Cryptosis remains determined to follow their chosen path, and in 2025, they return with a phenomenal sophomore record, Celestial Death.
An exercise in creative defiance, Celestial Death maintains Cryptosis’ core policy of making epic music that refuses to be pigeonholed. From the neck-wrecking intensity of opener Faceless Matter and the triumphant fury of Static Horizon, to vivid and venomous finale Cryptosphere, the Dutchmen’s second full-length is a sustained revelation. The songs are sharper, tighter and imbued with a powerful sense of skewed melody; the production is vast and destructive, but laudably organic and meticulously detailed. Everything that made Bionic Swarm so compelling has mutated and been magnified, and the band are ecstatic with the results. Underpinned by elements of black, death and thrash metal, combined with orchestral compositions, they have produced a sound that has no precedents in modern heavy music. Songs like Ascending and In Between Realities offer a box-fresh new metal hybrid, performed with furious skill and unwavering passion. This is melodic black/death metal taken to the next level.
An epoch-shattering force with endless potential, Cryptosis returns in 2025 with a new perspective, an enhanced sound, and a profound sense of urgency. The Dutchmen are ready to make every riff, beat and scream count. Celestial Death is a game-changer. The future has returned, and nothing can stop it.
Cryptosis have bloomed into a fascinating proposition, and Celestial Death is their refreshed manifesto.
