**Moondoggy live at Eddie's Attic w/ special guest Magenta Wave!**
Formed in Collingwood, Ontario in 2019, Moondoggy began playing house parties and making bedroom recordings of their earliest songs. In 2020, the band relocated to Toronto, where they spent the next three years honing their live performance and growing into the band they are today. Consisting of brothers Jakob Matanowitsch (vocals) and Ben Matanowitsch (saxophone/acoustic guitar), alongside Jonny Contini (lead guitar) and Victor Carrillo (drums), Moondoggy has developed a distinct sound and imagery shaped by years of growth together.
On November 17, 2023, Moondoggy released their debut studio album, Mad and Noisy. Inspired by life between Toronto’s smoggy skyline, Canada’s capital city, and the Hamlet of Dunedin where the Mad and Noisy Rivers meet, the album was recorded at Toronto’s Dreamhouse Studios with producer/engineer Calvin Hartwick. The record delivers a raw sound held together by careful arrangement and songwriting. Since its release, the band has begun recording their second studio album, Field Notes, at Hamilton’s Catherine North Studios, with plans for a fall 2024 release.
With sold-out shows at Toronto staples like the Horseshoe Tavern and Lee’s Palace, hometown DIY shows in Collingwood drawing over 300 attendees, and packed campus performances at McGill University, Moondoggy has built a live show that’s energetic and memorable. Since the release of Mad and Noisy, the band’s online presence has grown steadily, adding over 15,000 monthly Spotify listeners and earning placements on editorial playlists including All New Rock, Ready to Rock, and Fresh Finds Canada.

*Magenta Wave*
Magenta Wave is a Seattle-based rock band known for emotionally charged vocal melodies and evocative guitar solos. Formed in Bellingham in 2022, the band quickly grew from hosting their own house shows to performing at established local venues including The Wild Buffalo and the Blue Room.
Writing relentlessly in the garage of their shared home, Magenta Wave has continued to refine and expand their sound. After relocating to Seattle in fall 2023, they hit the ground running, landing appearances at Neumos, Capitol Hill Block Party, and Bite of Seattle.
Earlier this spring, the band completed a 12-show inaugural West Coast headlining tour, marking a major step toward establishing their sound on a national scale. Since releasing their debut single in early 2024, Magenta Wave has amassed over 900,000 streams across just seven songs. They are currently in the midst of an eight-song rollout, showcasing their growth, versatility, and excitement for what lies ahead.
Presented by Eddie's Attic.
This is an all ages event.
