**The Mosier Brothers live at Eddie's Attic presented in partnership with Atlanta Americana!**
*Jeff and Johnny Mosier are looking forward to their upcoming Mosier Brothers show, filling the stage with a full band including special guest on fiddle, John Mailander. The band's roots-driven, bluegrass-steeped, engaging performances celebrate the profound value of live music and the deep sense of community that is fostered by their long-time fans, new listeners, and the iconic venue, Eddie's Attic.*
Brothers Jeff and Johnny Mosier have been making music together since they were young, playing and singing at church in their hometown of Bristol, Tennessee. Inspired by their bluegrass pickin' Grandmother and self taught, on banjo and guitar, respectively, they continued to collaborate and hone their musical skills after moving to Atlanta in the late 60s.
Together, the Mosier brothers formed Good Medicine, a traditional bluegrass band performing locally and regionally. As they gained a following, they branched out and launched the popular radio show "Born in a Barn" on Atlanta's public radio station, WRFG, which continued for 14 years.
Having performed and created a close bond with the inimitable Col. Bruce Hampton in his jazz fusion band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Jeff had come to realize he now had two very different primary mentors, Bill Monroe and Col. Bruce. The Colonel had revealed to Jeff a new direction to follow other than traditional bluegrass so, in 1998, Jeff and Johnny formed the national touring band Blueground Undergrass, pioneering an experimental and progressive merging of traditional bluegrass instruments with the grit and energy of rock and roll.
Eventually, their desire to circle back to a more Americana and Roots-driven sound led them to create The Mosier Brothers band in 2010 and to record their album, "On My Way". Electric and acoustic banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, and a stellar rhythm section combine the rock solid array of styles to fill in the eclectic genre-bending arrangements for which the Mosier Brothers are best known.
The Mosier Brothers band brings decades of experience to this project of alternative cosmic Americana and Bluegrass-laced Roots Rock. Veterans of the progressive jamgrass scene, the Mosier brothers draw even more from their influences, ranging from bluegrass and jazz to psychedelic folk-rock and alt-country. Entertaining on every level, each show is like a musical journey, sending the listener on an enjoyable foot-tapping jaunt out on the road and back home again.
Jeff Mosier says, "My hope is that the sound of The Mosier Brothers continues to open up new avenues for the original music that me and my brother Johnny have played together for decades, allowing us to better tell our stories, and bring our years of experience into a connection with the people and audiences of the ever-growing and eclectic world of Americana; which, to me is a marketplace that holds great value in preserving live music's value in our world and culture."
Presented by Eddie's Attic.
This is an all ages event.
