It's hard to believe that 25 years ago in May, the first and only psytrance monthly in Silicon Valley was introduced, kicking off a legendary six-year run at the Savoy in Santa Clara. Since those early South Bay days, the party has evolved through San Francisco one-offs and redwood-shrouded gatherings in the Santa Cruz Mountains, eventually finding a home at DNA Lounge in 2021. To honor this quarter-century milestone, a robust lineup of Taurus artists has been gathered up to lead the charge. Get ready for a sonic stampede as headliners Digital Hippie and Spec anchor a herd of Taurus DJs, delivering an earth-shaking experience of maximum proportions! Blossoming in the sun-drenched soil of California but deeply rooted in the Indian psytrance scene, Digital Hippie is a grounded powerhouse DJ who's musical journey started in 2008 at the iconic Shiva Valley. Her sets balance the energy of classic Goa trance with a luxurious, modern edge that appeals to those who appreciate a solid, funky groove. Since her 2020 production debut with Tristan on Hello Coconut, she has steadily cultivated a lush discography including collaborations with Dickster and her solo gem, Elastic Ocean, while also becoming a member of the Nano Records family. With a persistent work ethic and a wealth of new music on the horizon, Digital Hippie is building a lasting legacy on dance floors worldwide, proving that her upward trajectory is as certain as the land beneath one's feet. Driven by a Taurus-like determination, Spec transitioned from a stable medical career to fully cultivate his musical project. This Los Angeles native brings a centered yet sophisticated complexity to psychedelic trance, weaving an appreciation for jazz, classical music, and Southern California rap into a signature sound that is both intelligent and undeniably groovy. Since planting his creative seeds in 1999 and producing albums Ex-Spec and Inspector, his journey towards joining Shiva Valley Records in 2012 reflects a steadfast persistence and refined artistic taste. Whether sharing the stage with prominent artists like Ajja, Dust, and Dribble or perfecting new releases for Zero1 Music, Spec remains devoted to creating high-quality, atmospheric auditory experiences that resonate with audiences globally.
