Sally C bio
If recent times have taught us anything, it’s that Sally C ain’t messing about. The Belfast-born, Berlin-based DJ has stamped herself as one of the most exciting new artists on the scene, thanks wholly to her inspired selector skills.
With a deep passion for vintage house that crosses the gamut of hip house and acid, right up to future-facing techno and electro rollers, she has developed a knack for selecting timeless, slept on classics that deserve the shine her sets bring.
With a distinct flair on the ones and twos, recent highlights include making her Panorama Bar debut during Berghain’s massive re-opening month in October 2021, supporting The Chemical Brothers at The Warehouse Project, playing mainstage of her hometown AVA festival b2b with Cromby and being a repeat guest at renowned Kyiv institution ∄, rated by many as the best club in the world.
Many would point to her still-talked-about Boiler Room gig at AVA Festival in 2019 at her coming-of-age moment. That day she smashed it out of the park, leading RA to laude her a festival highlight alongside the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble and Rebekah, noting her “musical range and technical acuity”.
Sally developed her craft while living in Scotland where she went to study, running a night at Dundee hotspot The Reading Rooms. She moved to Berlin in 2015 and etched out a spot in the thriving club hub, throwing parties at Griessmuehle and her own open-air raves, all the while building a fanbase for her raw and chunky style. This was fuelled by a slew of outstanding online mixes that showcased her vibe-heavy sound for the likes of RA, Crack, i-D and a ‘Dusty Hip / Ghetto Haus’ session with Cromby that’s garnered a cult following, to name just a few.
Summer 2020 saw the release of her debut productions on eponymous new label Big Saldo’s Chunkers. The tracks were her homage to the golden era of hip house and the sounds of ’88 -’98, inspired by Black innovators such as Fast Eddie, Tyree and the late great K-Hand, whose trailblazing music has impacted her so heavily. Soon after she had the honour of remixing Fast Eddie’s ‘Let’s Do This’ on his label AOU Entertainment. This was the first time the hip house classic has received an official remix treatment since the early 90s. She has also collaborated with Dance System to craft the infectious banger ‘It’s Dope’, which featured on his mixtape ‘Where’s the Party At?
Porky bio
Don’t be mislead by the light-hearted name, Porky is a man who takes partying very seriously. David Leon, as he is otherwise known, is the wildcard of Desert Hearts, the San Diego-bred crew of DJs and rabble-rousers tearing up the underground with deep, dark, and weird house and techno.
A San Diego native, Leon was influenced early on by older brother Mikey Lion and dusty jaunts to Lightning in a Bottle and Black Rock City, but over the past two years, his renown as a DJ and chops on the decks have grown to match his larger-than-life personality.
Porky leveled up his game performing in the mystical jungles of Tulum, the dusty expanses of Burning Man, and perhaps most notably, at the bi-annual Desert Hearts weekenders in Southern California. The group’s ascent from a renegade rager to a dance music phenomenon that has been one of the most celebrated stories in dance music over the past couple of years, and Porkchop’s standout sets and take-no-prisoners party attitude have been at the center of the whole whirlwind.
In a sea of black-shirted stoics, Porky pours himself into the DJ booth bursting with life and color. His hair and clothing melt into bright gradients and he smiles unpretentiously as he deals out techno obscurities and house crowd-pleasers alike. His sets are a reminder of why we’re all on the dancefloor in the first place––to party. And nobody gets the party started like Porky. He’s noted for being one of the most versatile member of the Desert Hearts Crew. His ability for weaving narratives through genres is clear, and he has a knack for dropping tracks that become moments you remember.
With hair in technicolor and his USB filled at all times with dancefloor demolishers, bursting with love and positive vibes,
