Description
Casii Stephan is a Tulsa-based singer-songwriter who weaves together elements of soul, rock, and folk-pop whose “gorgeously emotive voice inspires comparisons to alt-pop artists like Florence Welch and Fiona Apple with a writing style reminiscent of Carole King” (NPR). Casii has received national songwriting awards, toured regionally and internationally, performed official SXSW and Folk Alliance showcases, and performed at the virtual Sundance Film Festival. Casii’s live performance has received rave reviews from American Songwriter as a “knockout set of blues-funk and soul”. She has been profiled on platforms such as Billboard, NPR, SPIN, and American Songwriter. Casii writes her songs honestly, from the depths of her emotions, with wide ranging themes including death and life, love and loss, protest, and often pushing back on negative societal norms like sexism, ageism and “playing nice” as a woman. Casii released her first EP, “Relationship Status”, produced by Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes) in September 2024 on Shamus Records. In 2025, Casii performed her first international tour with official showcases in Ireland at the “Your Roots are Showing” Conference and London’s inaugural SXSW. On July 4th, Casii released “King in America”, “a thunderous protest anthem that doesn’t beg for understanding. It demands accountability. The song pairs Stephan’s raw vocal power with political clarity and poetic force” produced by Chad Copelin (Ben Rector, Colony House, Strumbellas) She is currently in the studio working on her first full length album with Copelin, with an anticipated release of spring 2026.
