Description
Bogota’s Bulto takes over for the first time. A queer party of outrageous flamboyance, Bulto - translating to “lump” or “bulge” - brings a healthy sense of crass, gutter humor to the very serious enterprise of liberation.
Yonti headlines BASEMENT. He brings a rigor to the hedonistic milieu. His sets shiver with taut, knife’s-edge grooves, and his mixing exhibits a world-class precision. Having made his debut at the infamous Snax party many years ago, Yonti has proven himself to be a major talent. Bulto resident Jesuz X makes his debut. Representing the true techno sound of Bogota, Jesuz spares no one with his defiant, rolling sets. NY’s Ne/Re/A is an artist whose creative vitality and powerful vision cannot be contained. A maestro of throttling, heavy and hypnotic techno, Ne/Re/A has distinguished herself again and again as a paragon of the underground.
Byron Yeates returns to STUDIO fresh off the release of his outstanding new LP “Pansy Beat” on his own Radiant Records. Across ten tracks, Yeates flexes his production muscles, offering up glistening, bombastic floor-fillers, soaring dnb and saucy, leftfield anthems. For all his range, Yeates makes it look easy - a quality reflected in his expansive, expressive DJ sets. Rachel Noon is a name that’s always a welcome sight in NY’s nightlife. Having established herself at a pivotal moment in the city’s underground, Noon’s global profile has only cemented what we knew all along. Sharp as a knife and always finding a balance between the raw and the considered, Noon is most well known for her electrifying sets. Here, she joins for a special house journey. Nat Wendell steps into the booth at STUDIO for the first time. The Berlin-based artist has been a certified exponent of deep, swung house since his first DJ sets at the end of the ‘90s. Wendell embodies pure soul; his sets overflow with immersive chords, jazzy harmonies and perfect, bumping grooves. His two labels - Depth of My Soul and Depths - have released a steady drip of potent, NY-indebted house music, including some of Wendell’s best work. Time for him to lay it down in the city that has been such an inspiration.
