Description
Dax J is back for an extended set. The British producer is one of the landmark artists in techno today, full stop. Across his unimpeachable discography, Dax J has honed a brutal, uncompromising sound that ranks with the best of his forebears. And like all truly great auteurs of the concrete-and-steel school of severity, Dax J finds a way to keep the groove as the secret spine to his noise-caked onslaughts. 2024’s “War Is Peace, Freedom is Slavery, Ignorance is Strength,” released on his own Monnom Black imprint, confronts the genuinely disturbing political realities that are so often merely aestheticized. Dax J keeps it real. Holden Federico joins. He is an artist whose devotion to techno’s core vitality and anarchic, revolutionary spirit is matched only by his precise craftsmanship. A series of releases on the esteemed SK_Eleven conjure a kaleidoscopic emotional range, from the shadowy and elusive to the nakedly expressive.
FAFF makes their debut in STUDIO. The London duo was responsible for the long-running, highly coveted queer party Big Dyke Energy, a series whose reputation rang out far beyond its home city. Since closing the books on that venture, FAFF has spread their wings and is now presenting their vision internationally. Their sumptuous, saucy and even dreamy flow is impossible to deny. Jason Kendig adds a disco twist to the mix. The Honey Soundsystem co-founder might as well hold an advanced degree in house euphoria. His years of exceptional work shine through his sets, which balance an indelible classism with an ever-renewing freshness. James Axon returns to the club. Founder of LA’s beloved queer underground series Planet Love, Axon is known for deep, colorful sets that set him apart. With a background as a classically trained musician, he brings an elegant clarity to the dancefloor.
