Description
Following Stage 2 takeover at WIRE Festival last year, Vault Sessions returns to the building for a showcase at BASEMENT. The Amsterdam party has made significant waves for their unwavering dedication to the most immersive, forward-thinking techno. With ten years of activity logged so far, Vault Sessions has evolved from a fearless underground party into one of the key standard bearers. Residents Blasha & Allatt return. The Manchester-based duo have become one of the most notorious pairs in techno today. They are known for their effortlessly fluid, near-telepathic connection and undeniable chemistry, and to hear them is a revelation. This is how techno should be played: heavy, rolling, filled with deft flourishes, nasty switchbacks and pockets of sublime spaciousness. The Hague’s Lobster is a key player in the Vault Sessions family. A seasoned veteran of the Dutch rave scene, he brings a surgical precision and discerning prowess to his sets. Lobster is one of those master technicians whose canny craft can set a room off with the slightest gesture. BASEMENT resident LYDO represents alongside our esteemed guests. One of the core talents of NY’s current underground, LYDO has become an essential voice. They are also one of the leading artists in the city today, showing themselves to be in a constant state of experimentation and evolution.
“I just like things at 110-percent full-party mode,” Mike Servito once said. “I want people to feel it. I don’t have time for dull moments.” He more than fulfills this promise. The longtime Bunker resident is one of the most electrifying house DJs in the world today, fusing his Detroit roots with a raw, NY sensibility and decades of digging. He goes b2b with Shaun J. Wright, the Chicago-born artist behind the Twirl parties (alongside Alinka) as well as some of the most memorable vocal performances in modern house music. Wright is firmly situated in a lineage that extends back to Larry Heard, Robert Owens and similar pioneers of soulful, genuinely deep house. This b2b will be a meeting of the minds. Physical Therapy’s searching, astute perspective has brought him through myriad incarnations over his singular career. However, the Allergy Season boss seems most at home with a playful touch of twisted psychedelia and an unalloyed sensuality that resonates with the balmier, groovier and stranger corners of dance music.
