Genet Abate: Genet Abate has been playing sold out shows with Tezeta Band in PDX since 2019. Her passionate and soulful voice is a celebration of popular Ethiopian music. Genet collectively has over 8 million YouTube views of her videos, including her most popular songs “Man Lilekih” and “Yinegera”. Although Genet is originally from Addis Ababa, she currently lives in Minnesota and regularly showcases her amazing voice on stages across the United States. Tezeta Band is an eight-piece ensemble that plays nostalgic Ethiopian influenced soul music. While rooting their sound in Ethio-Jazz, Tezeta Band (Pronounced Tih-Zeh-Tah Band) has been playing old-school African grooves across dance floors and festivals to popular acclaim since 2008. Tezeta Band was formed in Portland, OR by former members of legendary 90s Hip-Hop band, Five Fingers of Funk. After the Fingers dissolved in the early 2000s, members Ted Hille and Tim Cook discovered a cassette of music from the French compilation, Ethiopiques and decided to start a new group with their former bandmates. The band, which started as a tribute to Golden age Ethiopian soul music, has evolved to now play an inspired mix of both classic and original Ethio-Jazz compositions. Caicedo: ✨Caicedo✨ is a musical project that originated in Guadalajara, MX, in 2013, founded by Vicco González. Their eclectic style blends dream-pop, psychedelia, and latin rhythms into a unique genre they describe as "Tropical Dream."
