BandWagon Magazine Presents - Battle of the Bands It’s the annual BandWagon Magazine Battle of the Bands! Colorado’s best local bands compete for eternal glory, the grand prize of $5,000, and the cover of BandWagon Magazine – This could be you! Bands must compete in one preliminary round and (if they advance) one final round on January 23, 2026 at the Oriental Theater in Denver, CO. Preliminary rounds will be held in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Greeley. All bands that call Colorado (or Wyoming) home are welcome to apply. In 2021, BandWagon expanded with BandWagon Presents, a live event promotion company producing concerts, comedy, and festivals throughout Colorado and Wyoming. With offices in Greeley and Denver, BandWagon combines media and live entertainment to platform local talent while bringing nationally touring acts to the region. The Black Buzzard The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues Denver is a music venue born out of a drink and a conversation about the old Denver music scene. Created by Kellner Schoenke at their Longmont restaurant, The Black Buzzard drink fused bacon-infused bourbon and ten fidy imperial stout. Chef and Oskar Blues fooderies partner, Jason Rogers, shared a sip with Kellner, and they realized they had both frequented the same closed blues bar on 16th and Market Street, Brendan's. Years later, Brendan's became available, and it seemed like the perfect time to put some music back into the heart of LoDo. They named the venue after the drink that started it all. Today, located blocks away from Coors Field and Union Station, The Black Buzzard at Oskar Blues Denver hosts buzz-worthy musicians of all genres from Denver and beyond.
