Description
**Paul McDonald & the Mourning Doves live at Eddie's Attic with special guest Shaw Coggin!**
Paul McDonald’s voice is immediately recognizable and impossible to ignore. Often compared to legends like Rod Stewart and Bob Dylan, the poetic story-driven narratives and deeply catchy hooks in his music are delivered by a raspy yet refined voice reminiscent of another era that demands to be heard right now. He pulls off the rare feat of being a poet, visual artist, songwriter, adamant performer, and a powerful vocalist. Paul’s hope is to spread peace, love, and unity through his music. His first album in more than six years, “So Long To the Dark Side,” drops on July 11, 2025, with the electric single, “Dark Side,” leading a string of releases in the build up.

*Shaw Coggin*
Shaw Coggin is a Georgia-based singer-songwriter whose rise from open mics to packed local stages has been fueled by honesty, heart, and steady growth. Originally from Newton County, Coggin began playing guitar only a few years ago, picking it up during his late high school years before continuing to develop his craft while studying mass communication at Georgia College & State University in Milledgeville.
What started as a hobby quickly became a calling. After pushing through early stage fright at a campus open mic, Coggin became a regular fixture on Milledgeville’s downtown music scene, performing in restaurants, porch concerts, and local showcases. His sound draws from folk, indie, and singer-songwriter traditions, with influences ranging from Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash to Vampire Weekend, allowing each song to find its own lane.
Coggin is set to release his debut EP, Notebook, a collection of songs written and refined over several years that captures a transitional moment in his life. The project reflects both creative ingenuity and emotional sincerity, recorded using inventive, DIY production techniques. As he prepares to relocate to Savannah and enter a new chapter, Shaw Coggin continues to establish himself as a thoughtful, emerging voice with stories worth hearing.
Presented by Eddie's Attic.
This is an all ages event.
