-WENDY-
A Three-piece band of 21-22 years old living in Setagaya-ku, a suburb of Tokyo.
They were formed in October 2020 in an environment where it is impossible to go out due to the Corona disaster.
WENDY’s songs see inspirations from 70’s and 80’s roots rock, glam rock, hard rock, and contemporary rock and hip-hop.The band has a style and attitude that embodies the passionate messages of youth. All songs are written in English.
Immediately after its formation, the band signed a management contract with Sony Music Publishing.
Even in the midst of the pandemic, they have been actively performing live as much as possible,
In 2022, they held their first one-man live concert at a local live house, which was sold out. In the same year, they performed at “SUMMER SONIC 2022”, one of the two major rock festivals in Japan, and the following year they performed at the large-scale rock festival “METROCK 2023” and became a big hit in the live scene.
In the same year, they were invited by a local band “W24” to perform successfully in Korea.
In 2023, they signed a contract with Victor Entertainment, a major record company in Japan, and released their first album “Don’t waste my YOUTH”.
The producer was Marc Whitmore, who won the Grammy Award for Best Album for his work on Jon Batiste’s “We Are” (2022).
They and Marc hit it off and are working on another album to be released in 2024.
In the recent scene where a new generation of rock music represented by MÅNESKIN is gaining momentum worldwide,
The band is now the hottest band from the suburbs of Tokyo, aiming for the world.
In 2024, the band will continue to play live shows not only in Japan but also in other parts of the world.
