He is a longtime collaborator of DJ Nobu, working closely with the figurehead on the Future Terror parties, which have helped to define the standard for top-shelf techno across the world. Haruka’s own artistry is beyond reproach. Few DJs can craft a set with as much nuance and focus as he can. Volvox makes her triumphant return to Altær. One of NY’s foremost practitioners of white knuckle techno, Volvox commands the DJ booth like few others. Over more than a decade of sustained involvement in the NY underground, she’s helped set the standard for hard-edged sounds, working from crisp jacking percussion to steelier, more cerebral zones and moments of seismic power. Auspex completes the lineup. The key visionary behind the Altær series, Auspex’s capacity of sonic devastation is matched only by his vision of techno as a site of ritual and transfiguration. Alinka steps back into the booth at STUDIO. Raised in Chicago’s vibrant house music underground, Alinka’s credentials mirror the modern history of the genre. Her collaborators include some of house music’s key voices, including Shaun J. Wright and Justin Long, Spencer Parker, Kim Ann Foxman and many more, and she’s been welcomed in seemingly every club of renown. An early residency at Smart Bar set the tone for decades of touring, and her Twirl label and party series became a hub for her uncompromising, joyous take on the iconic sound. Lauren Flax is another veteran who never misses. She is one of NY’s true leading lights, a DJ whose credentials go all the way back to the inaugural edition of Movement in the year 2000, straight through to the present day with standout releases on The Bunker NY, 2MR and Chiwax. She’s an artist who lives and breathes dance music and whose DJ sets are remarkable for their unblemished cohesion and sense of naughty catharsis. SPRFRK makes his debut. Arriving in NY via Miami, he’s a resident of the long-running italo party Scandalo NYC.
