Description
Stef Mendesidis’ live hardware sets are some of the best in techno today. A masterful technician, Mendesidis seems to be in a permanent flow state with his machines, bringing forth one absolute belter after another. Both as a performer and in the studio, he captures the driving essence of the genre, riding waves of energy like a surfer on a heavy swell. 2024’s “Decima” album on Klockworks shows the man at the peak of his powers. Mama Snake’s freewheeling approach hits the upper echelons of tempo and kineticism. Working from an ultra-modern perspective, the Amniote Editions founder embodies a cutting edge vision of an electroid future. Mama Snake has been at the forefront of 21st century electronic music for over a decade, working tirelessly as an artist, performer, curator and community builder. But if her current output is any indicator, she’s only just getting started. Mos is one of the key names representing the next generation of NYC techno. His career has taken him to Rome, Berlin, Kyiv and many other key locations, and Mos’ honed instincts and knack for a timeless approach has made him a consistent standout.
Mike Servito and Jeffrey Sfire join forces for a special b2b. Both artists are exemplars of their generation, with decades logged behind the decks and lifetimes spent immersed in the US underground. Servito is practically a household name in NY. A longtime resident of The Bunker and one of the all time greats of the 21st century, the Detroit-born artist channels the fierce defiance of the genre with absolute authority. Jeffry Sfire is a fellow Michigan native, and an indispensable part of the story of electronic music in America over the last 25 years. A savant of glimmering Hi NRG, italo and similarly gaudy, liberated strains, Sfire holds nothing back. Natalie Robinson describes her approach to house music as “a virtuous blend,” and there is indeed something healing and pure baked into the mix. The Ghanaian-born, Berlin-based artist has broken out over the last few years on the strength of the deep, soulful tenor of her selections and her fluid, effortless flow. She makes her debut in STUDIO. Matas returns with a more coiled energy. Mixing rolling, progressive-tined tracks with explosive moments of catharsis and vertiginously tripping side quests, Matas casts a heady spell.
