Description
For the final chapter of our Living Things series with Usal, we root into presence through body and sound. Root is a participatory yoga and meditation practice guided by Justine Pierre and set to the ambient soundscapes of Coulou.
Sensory Embodiment is a ritual-infused practice blending yin yoga, somatic awareness, qigong and meditation to guide you into full-body presence. Through long-held postures, mindful breath and gentle movement, you’ll anchor into your body, exploring its subtle language- textures, rhythms, and sensations- and connect with the elements within you: earth, water, fire and air. This practice invites slowing down, cultivating curiosity and rooting into your own being, offering tools to bring awareness, energetic flow and emotional ease off the mat and into daily life- a meditation in motion that helps you return home to your body again and again.
Layered through this practice, coulou’s live guitar and trumpet weave an atmosphere of sonic meditation — a place to listen inward and outward at once.
Together, they create a ceremony of grounding, of tuning into the elements within us, and of returning home to the body.
