Description
To close out Durations, we explore a spectrum of contemporary leftfield in The Atrium, while a gallery of seasoned, out-of-the-box tastemakers get brainy in The Sound Room.
**Jeff Parker** \[Tortoise, Isotope 217˚, Chicago Underground\] is integral to the "Modern Chicago Sound" and respected as one of the most innovative guitarists and composers of his generation, blending jazz and rock with experimental. **Patrick Shiroishi** is a Japanese-American multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Los Angeles, perhaps best known for his extensive and incredibly intense improvisational work with the saxophone. *Ephemera,* the debut release of Perko's new **Fergus Jones** alias, explores foggy, dimly-lit IDM and trip-hop. The FELT label head utilizes analogue audio sculpting, stem iterations, and vocal manipulation combined with weighty sound design to glide between the organic and synthetic. **M. Sage** intermingles field recordings, warm synth tones, instrumentals, and gentle drum patter to explore the relationship between music and environment. He is part of improvisatory ambient jazz quartet Fuubutsushi.
**Lyra Pramuk** is a journey through experimental sounds and electronically reshaped vocals. The multi-disciplinary artist is known for her genre-bending "futuristic folk music" that blends gospel and classical vocalism with pop sensibilities, performance art, and club culture. Defined by a meticulous approach to the composition, production, art direction, and presentation of their work, **Call Super**'s abstract productions and diverse DJ sets lean toward the more cerebral side of techno. Brooklyn-based **Amelia Holt** shares an erudite sensibility. Her sets never follow the rules, transforming any dancefloor into a culture-bending, otherworldly experience evident through her Honey Trap party and radio series \[The Lot Radio, Kiosk Radio\].
