About Swing That Cat
Website | Facebook | Instagram | YouTube | Spotify
Born out of a simple idea and love of good music, Swing That Cat is on a mission with a message: DANCE YOUR TAIL OFF! What more could you ask for from a band that sounds like the Sonic Cocktail of Jump Blues swizzled with Horny Swing, a dash of Cabaret, and a splash of Bourbon Street. This female-led band, backed by hepcats howling “Yo Philly” with horns, flute, guitar, bass and drums, have earned their stripes at shows and streaming around the world. Swing That Cat has just released a new full length studio album "LEAP" on vinyl.

Matthew Gordon has a knack for turning on a dime from funky grooves to wistful melodies that transcend genre boundaries, weaving thoughtful lyrics that seep into the soul with a hard-driving sensibility and universal truths. A master of the dobro, Matthew’s dynamic playing has made him a sought-after collaborator among Philadelphia’s music scene and multiple Philadelphia Folk Fest appearances. Whether channeling the raw funk of The Meters or the bluegrass spirit of the Stanley Brothers, his original songs strike a balance between soulful reflection and infectious energy, inviting audiences to smile, think deeply, and dance like no one is watching.
