The On the Rocks DJs are a crew from the UK known for their original audiovisual party series spanning 5 years in Birmingham and freshly dug records shared over on their YouTube channel. Equipped with a new, custom-built hi-fidelity sound system, they are sailing to Europe and bringing their party to a its new home in Amsterdam. To kick-off their new party series, On The Rocks have invited one of their favourite local selectors; Orpheu The Wizard. Orpheu, founder of Red Light Radio and mainstay of the international circuit, has a magic touch for finding records that fall between the gaps in music – oddities, curiosities, the weird, the wonderful. But that’s just half the trick. It takes a sensitive and selective ear to construct a coherent, accessible narrative. So you get DJs who can play for the crowd and “selectors” adept at mining the black gold. In Orpheu, you’ve got someone who can do both.
