Local all-star Sabbath tribute band memorializes Ozzy Osbourne (by Dave Pehling)
Bobb Saggeth was conceived in 2009 during a rehearsal break by members of SF band Citay and has been playing Ozzy era Black Sabbath classics for over 15 years in The Bay Area and California. The band consists of singer Meryl Press (Red Room Orchestra, Paula Frazer and Tarnation, Marc and the Casuals), drummer Warren Huegel (Tussle, The Candy Whips, 3 Leafs, Earth Girl Helen Brown, Musk, Daevid Allen's University of Errors) and guitarist Sean Smith (LFZ) and bassist Larry Boothroyd (Victims Family, Jello Biafra and The Guantanamo School Of Medicine, Triclops!, Specimen Box). The group plays occasional non-Halloween concerts, but it's their annual performances in late October that finds them dressing up in outlandish costumes. In the past, they have played dressed as Kiss, the Star Trek crew, Devo, zombies, and members of the Blue Man Group. What started as a one-time Halloween party group has endured as an annual tradition, and a way to have fun and share their favorite band. We love you, Ozzy!
