Starting in the Philadelphia DIY scene in 2019 with lo-fi, country-tinged bedroom recordings, Medosch has since evolved Florry into a full band without losing her raw, heartfelt lyrical voice. Following their acclaimed 2023 debut The Holey Bible, the band embraced a louder, more confident sound, touring with artists like MJ Lenderman and Real Estate and earning praise from outlets like Pitchfork and Stereogum. What began as a solo project nearly gave way to a job in insurance—until the music industry came calling, including Kurt Vile, who brought them on tour. Their upcoming album Sounds Like… builds on that momentum, inspired in part by the Jackass theme song. It trades in lo-fi melancholy for a raucous, heartfelt blend of honky-tonk and rock, echoing Dylan’s Rolling Thunder Revue era.
