Description
This lineup should come with a warning; when SPFDJ plays BASEMENT, no one is safe. The Herrensauna resident has become a figurehead for a new generation of ravers. Her ability to intuitively blend searing techno, over-the-top club edits, punchy electro and much, much more lands with the concussive force of a Mac truck and the sneering defiance of a punk spitting in your eye. SFPDJ brings a swaggering power and a revelatory unruliness to the room. Infra resident Annie Lew goes b2b with Concrete Husband. Both are exemplars of NY’s emergent club underground, each embracing a steely hardness and undiluted passion for the rave that’s completely infectious. Saint Velez returns for a second round following his debut in May. On his own Illegal Rhythm label, Velez is cultivating his vision of no-holds barred, vanishing point techno.
The Carry Nation headline. Simply put, no one is doing it quite like they are. A veritable living institution and standard bearers for house music, their seemingly-limitless capacity for inspiration has helped to usher in a local golden age of their own making. Their long-running party of the same name has been an essential hub for queer nightlife in the city, but their output as a long-running b2b has been just as iconic. They give so much, and we pray they never stop. Kilopatrah Jones operates with a similar level of joyous focus. Jones’ raw enthusiasm, outstanding technique and fluid selections bring a new vitality to classic house. MVHY makes his debut. An emissary of the European queer underground, MVHY keeps a lush, swung groove right at the front and center.
