Description
Clarisa Kimskii returns to Wrecked once again for a headlining slot at BASEMENT. Rooted in the genre’s golden age, Kimskii’s slinky, taut grooves keep the energy at a near-boiling point. Earworm acid lines, tense, sweaty dissonance and moments of blinding warmth braid together with ice cold technique. Kimskii’s patient touch makes her the ideal guide down the psychedelic wormhole. Few are playing with the swaggy, tripping vision that Kimskii brings to life with apparent ease. Ron Like Hell joins her to extend the energy. A rare equal, Ron’s commitment to pushing the boundaries is an inspiration. As a selector, their range can extend from saucy disco to churning cosmic to wild-eyed, punk-tinged house and more. But their techno sets at Wrecked are always standout affairs.
Leonce is also a Wrecked alum. The Atlanta-based producer is one of the best artists making full-on club weapons currently operating. A Leonce track is identifiable from a mile away for its uncanny mix of forward momentum, heaving impact and lithe, spacious minimalism. “Dusted,” a recent collaboration with Hessle Audio’s Pangaea for London’s fabric Originals, sees Leonce in a chirping, syrupy mood. It’s the next step in a career that seems to bridge every divide. Mike Servito joins him. One of NY’s most essential artists. Servito is in a league of his own when it comes to sleazy, jacking house. Accept no imitations. Ryan Smith completes the lineup, bringing an elegance and edgy grace to a room that is sure to be left staggering at the end of the night.
