GUI BORATTO BIOGRAPHY:
Architect, producer and composer, Gui Boratto is one of the most influential electronic music artists in Brazil, recognized for his ability to blend techno, house, and emotive
melodies in his productions.
Born in São Paulo, Boratto began his career as a producer and sound engineer, collaborating with various bands and artists before achieving international recognition. In 2005, with the single "Arquipélago," and in 2007, with the release of his debut album, Chromophobia, considered by many a milestone in electronic music, both released by the legendary German label Kompakt.
In addition to his acclaimed productions, Boratto expanded his talent to cinema, remixing the main theme of the Oscar-winning film City of God (2003), composing the main theme for the Brazilian film Paraísos Artificiais (2012), and contributing his track “Take My Breath Away” to the Oscar-winning film La Grande Bellezza (2013). At the request of Karl Lagerfeld himself, he signed the soundtrack for the iconic brand Chanel (2011) and contributed to the soundtrack of the iconic game Halo 4 (2012).
Gui Boratto also left an indelible mark on Brazilian music by producing Change (2021), the last song recorded by Rita Lee, one of the greatest names in Brazilian rock. He also delivered an epic remix of "Mutante" (2021), another song by Rita Lee and Roberto de Carvalho, reaffirming his ability to reinvent great works.
Boratto has also worked with major names in international electronic music, such as Tim Simenon of Bomb The Bass, producing the album and Darren Emerson, ex member of Underworld, on projects that reaffirm his influence and talent in the genre. He has remixed heavyweight artists such as Pet Shop Boys, Massive Attack, Paul Simon, Morcheeba, Goldfrapp, among others.
