Hailing from Chicago, CTRLZORA is the event and music curator behind The Cowrie, as well as a producer, artist collective co-founder, DJ, musician, and dance music equitist from Chicago. They aim to contribute to keeping the electronica dance scene alive and soulful through house, techno, jazz, funk, world music, and more. Born and raised in the heart of Chicago, Nosha Luv is more than a DJ—she’s a curator of soul-stirring, body-moving experiences. Her journey into music wasn’t just a choice; it was destiny. Growing up surrounded by the warm crackle of vinyl, she inherited her stepfather’s deep love for records and her grandmother’s timeless 45s, immersing herself in the roots of Disco, Boogie, Soul, and, most importantly, Chicago House. Deon Jamar is a Detroit local who grew up with decks in the lounge. His dad was a DJ so music's always been part of his life. After digging into Detroit's underground scene, he started doing his own thing, throwing parties like "Healin Sessions" and running the Black Music Exhibition. The Cowrie- a party and event series with a central focus on Midwestern talent of the diaspora. Holding spaces for movement, communion, & artistic expression for collective liberation.
