Description
Compared to “a young Adele” by Rolling Stone, Canadian singer-songwriter **Billianne** has emerged as one of the most captivating new voices in folk-pop. Hailing from Milton, Ontario, Billianne first gained international attention when her cover of Tina Turner’s “The Best” went viral on TikTok, with her performances earning nods from Taylor Swift, The Lumineers, P!nk, Joe Jonas, and even Oprah.
Since then, Billianne has transitioned from viral sensation to fully formed artist, amassing over 100 million streams. Lacing melancholic daydreams and romantic voyeurism with an eagerness to overflow into the big city, she meditates on the different ways you can arrive at being yourself.
She’s appeared on NBC’s TODAY Show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and BBC Radio 1, and toured extensively across Canada, the US, Europe, and the UK, supporting artists like KT Tunstall, Julia Jacklin, Alexander Stewart, and Amber Run, alongside international festivals like Osheaga, Ottawa Bluesfest, The Great Escape, and more.
Billianne’s new folk-pop album, Modes of Transportation \[out August 15, 2025\], is a raw examination of growing, longing, and navigating all the relationships that form the building blocks of personhood.
Adjacent to The Sound Room, The Atrium at Public Records is a plant-based restaurant + cocktail bar serving a globally-inspired collection of dishes, operating Wed–Sat 6–11 pm and Sat–Sun 11–4 pm. Make a reservation before/after your show via Resy here: http://bit.ly/4loDjTg.
