As a live 5-piece band their ambitious sound palette combines melancholic harmonies over a soundtrack of 80’s sequencers, 70’s string machines and fuzz guitars. From Aberystwyth, on the west coast of Wales, Ynys released two albums on Libertino Records (Ynys 2022 and Dosbarth Nos 2024). Albums of off-kilter catchy and melancholic psychedelic pop songs, and both releases generated a buzz with glowing reviews including a 4-star review in Mojo Magazine. Ynys have been featured by the likes of Clash Magazine, Brooklyn Vegan, The Line of Best Fit and God Is In the TV. Festivals appearances include Other Voices, Greenman, In It Together, FOCUS Wales, Sŵn, as well as regular touring throughout the UK.
