Description
The Spectrum Returns to Nowadays for Pride Friday setting the stage for the weekend's Nonstop Body Hack. If you were not there, The Spectrum existed from 2011-2016 in Williamsburg and then reincarnated as the Dreamhouse 2016-2019 on Wyckoff as a Community arts space daytime and a Queer Underground club that changed the nature of BK nightlife and spaces, dedicating its work to providing a space of care and healing for the Queers esp Fem/ Trans GNC dolls of NYC. They are continuing their work again at Nowadays.
Notoriously Friday is The Spectrum's favorite day of Pride since it is also Drag-March - A beloved NYC tradition of camp, trash glamour, noise and joyful rebellion. In true Spectrum style, we bring back our signature party Ova the Rainbow: with WIG REVEAL.
Wigs can be for everyone, so whether you're in full fantasy or rocking your everyday hair...Sean Bennett will be doing a hair installation and David Oramas will be doing a photo booth for the first part of the night. Turn a look, get your pic! Discount at the door with Hair looks: wigs, extensions or over the top looks.
Musically there are some secrets in store for you. It has been a while since The Spectrum's long time collaborator, UK's Danny Clobber has been in the mix bringing a classic 90's house and tech set for Pride. Dangerous Rose channels the original Dreamhouse energy while bridging it with new doll generation as the Mother of Trap-no. Alexis De La Rosa brings us even further into the future of the post Dreamhouse Project with ancestral/ extraterrestrial rhythms and beats. Fernando aka DJ FeG, a new edition of Spectrum fam, moving from Sao Paulo to NYC he warms up the night up with a set of Latin influences and American bass.

Accessibility:
The wheelchair entrance to our indoor space is in the driveway, which is the access point most commonly used to enter Nowadays. During parties the driveway gate is locked, so please ask staff at the street entrance for assistance with entry.
All of our bathrooms are gender-neutral. There is one accessible stall indoors. Just ask any Nowadays staff member for the key, and they can show you the way. During parties, seating is available both on and off the dance floor. While we don’t have a dedicated quiet space indoors during parties, the booths next to coat check are a little quieter, and the deck and back yard a little quieter than that. Most nighttime parties include the use of strobe lights and water based haze.
