Description
Wicked, the party hosted by Amsterdam-based, Japanese-run label Sound Of Vast, returns in full force.
Now entering its 11th year, Sound Of Vast continues to accelerate its output. Headlining the main floor this time are: Red Pig Flower, who dropped her debut album “Practice Love” in March; The People In Fog, set to release “Too Much Knobs And Cables” in June; and Monkey Timers, active both in Japan and abroad.
Label co-founder Red Pig Flower returns to Wicked for the first time in a year. Following a tour with Honey Dijon and a set at Panorama Bar, she’s been gaining international attention. Her debut album “Plactice Love” has earned glowing reviews and was selected as one of Resident Advisor’s Best Albums of April. Her high-energy, emotionally rich house music is a must-experience on the dance floor.
Also performing is The People In Fog, who will release his first album in four years, “Too Much Knobs And Cables”, on June 3. A shift from his previous release “1977”, the new album leans deeper into disco- and house-oriented electronic music, filled with heartfelt respect and love for the culture he’s long admired. Expect an emotional, narrative-driven journey that unfolds across the dance floor.
Adding to the celebration is Monkey Timers, who have performed at many overseas editions of Rainbow Disco Club and are set to play Panorama Bar this July. Their set will bring a perfect festival flourish to the night.
The 4F Floor offers an equally rich lineup. Making his Japan debut is Melbourne’s DJ Life, who broke out with his hit “Retina EP” on the respected Craigie Knowes label. His distinctive blend of progressive and tech house has made a strong mark in the scene. He’s joined by two local favorites: Timo, a long-time pillar of Tokyo’s club culture, and Genki Tanaka, known for bridging the Tokyo and Melbourne scenes. Be sure to also enjoy premium Japanese shochu served by Ito Shoten.
On the 1F Floor, curated by Dependance, three artists will make their Wicked debut. First is Akie, a talented selector and record buyer at Newtone Records, known for refining a deeply personal sound. Then comes Toner, whose uncategorizable, experimental sets create surreal, otherworldly dance floor experiences. Finally, teppei brings his unique sensibility through experimental elements and a deep, aesthetic-driven approach.
