Description
PR Resident, **Dee Diggs** brings her party, House of Diggs \[HoD\], to Public Records for the fourth year of HoD PRIDE edition. House of Diggs lends a peak into Dee Diggs’ queer imagination — inviting the illustrious talents of artists who identify across the LGBTQIA+ spectrum to define this moment for ourselves with pure and urgent expression. House of Diggs has been bringing the best grooves from the crates and bins to the people on the dance floor since 2020.
Expect a good heaping portion of personality, spunk, and synergy from the night: usual HoD sonics are spellbinding blends of old school and new school, digital and vinyl deep cuts and expert experimenting with genre-bending: ranging through soul, disco, pop, house, techno, and other juicy surprises that just can not be named, but are guaranteed to move you.
Sound Room
**Josey Rebelle** is an icon in her own right. The London selector’s sound is eclectic and electric and her decade long tenure on Rinse FM shows it. Even if you only skim the top of those famed radio archives or take a deep listen to her award-winning Josey in Space compilation from 2020, the potency of Josey’s energy is undeniable. She was gracious enough to have our host Dee Diggs on the show in summer of 2019 \[see if you can find the link\]. She’s the realest around — come and find out why she has been top of Dee’s wishlist for HoD since 4eva.
**Dee Diggs**
*Your gracious host, International DIVA DJ extraordinaire, Miss Worldwide, is bouncing back from playing GLASTONBURY for this glorious occasion. You should already know about me, if not come and find out, just promise to not over think it and just let your body feel it . ;) Planning some special GAY moments for this set :)) because THIS IS A PRIDE PARTY first and foremost. My community needs to dance now more than ever <3*
*Setting my intentions for the night:*
*\- Come early and stay late for a night of rapturous dance.*
*\- We gather to tune in, not tune out, so share space accordingly.*
*\- Bring a good vibe and extend it on, and you’ll leave inspired!*
*It’s LGBTQIA+ people to the front! This is an anti-racist, anti-any phobia kind of space. If you get checked for not abiding, please RESPECTFULLY & SWIFTLY, get it together or you will be THROWN OUT. NO Refunds.*
*There is so much craziness going on in the world and in this country, let this dance floor be a sacred space we share and coexist in together peacefully.*
The Atrium
Goes ALL VINYL tonight. So honored to have these two famed all vinyl DJ’s come and keep the vinyl culture alive in reverent and effereversant ways
Sprklbb is a DJ and photographer based in New York City. A mentee of NYC house duo,The Carry Nation, his sets showcase the continuation of the legacies of House music and Remix culture as they were shared to him. The result is a sound that is eclectic, improvisational and rooted heavily (read: COMMITTED to) the all vinyl format and ethos. Andy’s magic touch is how he live samples these pieces of wax, these records into a whole new galaxy of sound. Sampling is an artform of reverence!! This truth is realized throughout the colorful archives of Club Moment on Lot Radio or Microwave on Soho Radio, both curated meticulously by Sprklbb, so digg in to catch the vibe before it’s time for Sprklbb’s PR Debut !!!
What you hear will make you sparkle too.
Stella Zekri is here to help us celebrate PRIDE! This Berlin-based selector, vinyl enthusiast and vocalist (!!! See her album Detends-Toi - Stella ) is an integral part of Berlin’s queer community and club community at large! After a number of years organizing parties at the DIY venue, Kake Stella founded Body Language with Camilla Rae and Caitlin Russell in 2021.Body Language is part of a shift into a new line of queer parties in Berlin -- "queer" precisely because diversity runs through its bookings, its sound systems, its dancefloors and isn’t just a catchword on a statement.
Her rich sound is apparent in her sets and mixes with her passion for Hip-Hop, Funk, Soul, Jazz and boogie perfectly placed in context with her House-y Clubby vibe. She’s got crates stacked with gems and B-sides that can’t be beat because of the vinyl habit too. She serves it up so goooooddd. Not to be missed!
Upstairs
30,000AD, the godmother of TDM (Transgender Dance Music), is bringing you spiraling sounds of the new old & the old new in an all vinyl set on the hifi system upstairs. Prepare to hear her personality and wide sweeping tastes and talent for picking dope sonic textures as her sonic world-building shines through on the detailed hi-fi sound of the Upstairs rooms.
She started her journey exploring electronic instruments at a young age, until she began to learn to collect and mix records over the last decade. As those two disciplines crossed paths, her new practice evolved into an older format, one that blurs the lines between “live set” and “DJ set”. When she isn’t blending the two, she works to conjure the spirit of each into the other, to contribute towards the legacy of dance music’s defiance of definition.
