FETISH ATTIRE MANDATORY
BOUND comes in swinging for Pride with a stellar lineup of grooving techno and unrestrained experimentation. Clarisa Kimskii returns to the room to headline. She has become firmly ensconced as one of NY’s best DJs working today and as an emissary of darkly seductive, rolling and psychedelic techno. Kimskii has been regularly pushing her vision to new heights, showcasing her decades-deep craft and through-and-through knowledge of the genre. Kimskii is just getting started. Katie Rex goes head to head with Annie Lew. Both artists represent overlapping, uncompromising visions of techno. Rex’s slamming mix of hardgroove, rave and more brutal strains meshes perfectly with Lew’s steely approach. Infinity Division is the new project from beloved rave destruction unit Minimal Violence. Tapping into the surging catharsis and larger-than-life pathos of hardcore, Infinity Division’s debut EP “INTOXTC” is one of those records that draws a line in the sand. Across its four tracks, Infinity Division lays it out with fierce clarity and total commitment with heavy, distorted kicks, razor sharp breaks and sky-high melodies.
San Francisco’s SQUISH presents their first ever takeover in STUDIO. Over the last few years, SQUISH has become one of the definitive series for adventurous, leftfield and bass-heavy music in a city that’s experiencing a renaissance. Their lineups have been frankly unstoppable, but perhaps even more notable is the dedicated queer community that has emerged around the event. The ever fearless rRoxymore makes her debut. Few DJs have been as committed to the tantalizingly strange, tactile, feverish and vivid. rRoxymore’s discography continuously seeks to dismantle tropes and cliches, finding delectable grooves in pockets to strangeness. She has an incredible knack for percussion, building perfectly balanced, sculptural constructions that beckon you in. Across her albums “Fade to Phase” and “Perpetual Now,” she finds her way over and over again to a remarkable, spacious depth that commands your attention. Will Automagic steps up for a solo set. A quintessential artist, Will’s collaborative projects, including the Majorettes and STUDIO favorite The Carry Nation, are responsible for some of the finest house music in New York today. In his solo work, Will sits on a sprawling discography, and as a DJ he can access pockets of slinky, lurid psychedelia alongside his signature, euphoric transcendence.
Squish co-founders likeholywine and nonsuit handle the rest with a special b2b. Both artists move freely between bumping club, joyous house, bass music and more. In collaboration, they’re more than willing to push each other into a higher gear. Get ready.
