Description
Following their appearance at WIRE - where they’ve been a consistent presence since year one - Schacke returns to headline BASEMENT. It’s no understatement to say Schacke has been a leading figure for the current generation and a true trailblazer in the modern electronic landscape. Their iconoclastic and subversive take on genre has seen them traverse the gamut, from cheeky to brutal, always bringing a discerning eye and a trickster’s mercuriality. A veteran of both rooms, their sets at BASEMENT in particular always turn convention on its head. Schacke is a moving target who gives you exactly what you never knew you needed. Mac Declos joins from Paris. The Mama Told Ya artist draws out waves of emotional resonance from his artfully arranged melodies. Trace elements of trance flit through the mix, but Declos draws just as much from classic Detroit artists and, of course, his countrymen. There’s something effortless about his bubbling, breezy edginess that feels quintessentially French. OZA is responsible for some of the best parties in LA today. His queer party series Tunnel has become one of the most significant hubs for radical nightlife in the metropolis, and OZA’s music matches that fervor. Last time, he was in STUDIO, but for this one OZA’s letting it out with a special techno set.
JADALAREIGN is one of the best house DJs in NY’s modern house revival. The Nowadays resident mixes timeless soul with deep, vibrant and at times overwhelming psychedelia, heady grooves and thick, rubbery low end. Drawing on a Black lineage, JADALAREIGN is the heir apparent to a lineage of sublime artistry and divine dance. Ian Crane is a repeat customer at STUDIO. The driving force behind State of Bliss, Crane’s unabashed sincerity and uplifting ethos never ceases to transform the vibe at STUDIO. The elusive Choque returns to the room with a deliriously raw vigor.
