Hermosa Sounds is a vibrant, all-ages music showcase celebrating emerging female and gender-diverse voices across genres and cultures.
Presented by Hermosa Music and curated by Elizabeth Obando, the event brings together some of Melbourne’s most exciting talents for a night of connection, rhythm, and empowerment.
From soul and R&B to punk, Latin fusion, and powerful storytelling, each act brings a unique sound and perspective. Held at the iconic Brunswick Ballroom, the evening highlights original music, community spirit, and fearless artistic expression in a space that welcomes all - with a special transition into an 18+ celebration to close the night.
LINE-UP:
• Violet Gala – R&B and jazz artist blending vintage soul with modern R&B. Influenced by Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Vulfpeck, and Lola Young, her music is heartfelt and timeless.
• Alethia – Colombian-born, Melbourne-based multi-genre artist and three-time Latin Grammy nominee. Her debut album ALETHIA explores love and self-discovery through bold, healing sounds.
• Nymph Spit – A dynamic teen band blending alt, punk, and classic rock. Their music explores identity and empowerment with youthful intensity.
• Romy Hernández – Cuban-born pianist and composer combining classical training with jazz improvisation. A pillar in Melbourne’s Latin music scene, she brings emotional depth to every performance.
• Queen of Hearts – All-female band redefining mariachi through global fusion, closing the night with the 18+ launch of their second album, Divina.
Hermosa Music reinvests all profits into scholarships for emerging female artists.
