Joshua Radin emerged in 2004 as an empathetic, engaging, and often enthralling troubadour. Over the years, he’s tallied north of 1 billion streams, moved 1 million-plus albums worldwide, and scored a gold certification for the single “I’d Rather Be With You.” His music has appeared in over 200 films, television series, and commercials. In addition to multiple showstopping appearances on Ellen (who also enlisted him to perform at her wedding) and Today Show, and performances on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE!, and Conan, he contributed “Brand New Day” to a commercial in support of the troops at the request of First Ladies Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden. He’s played to sold out crowds around the globe and shared the stage with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Sara Bareilles, Ingrid Michaelson, Sheryl Crow, Tori Amos and more. Not to mention, he’s a staunch philanthropist who supports Little Kids Rock and North Shore Animal League America (NSALA), among others. Thus far his catalog consists of nine full-length offerings highlighted by fan favorites such as We Were Here, Simple Times, Underwater, Wax Wings, and Here, Right Now.
Following the release of his 2021 acclaimed album The Ghost and The Wall, Joshua left his material existence in the rearview, grabbed a backpack, packed his guitar, picked up a pen and a pad, hit the road in search of new stories to tell. Those stories comprise though the world will tell me so, volumes one & two which were released early 2023. During 2025, he turns the page on the next chapter of his career and life with his tenth full-length LP and first independent album since 2017, One Day Home. Immersing himself in the process mind, body, and soul, he pored over these 13 tracks, perfecting each moment and co-producing six tracks with Wally Gagel. This time around, he prepared the music for a double-LP release with one half original studio versions of the tracklisting and the other piano vocal versions. Musically, he taps into two sides of his sonic palette, leaning into soul and singer-songwriter stylings while tracing the journey of a romantic relationship.
Emily James
There’s no feeling quite like first love. Most will not last beyond adolescence or young adulthood, but the bittersweet sensations and coming-of-age impressions tend to stick around. In nostalgic moments, it’s all too easy to sink back into the memories of that time and parse out what you might have done differently if only you knew then what you know now. Singer-songwriter Emily James effortlessly captures this poignant rearview look on her intensely personal new EP, Summer Nostalgia, coming soon via Nettwerk Music Group.
Throughout her career, Emily has found ways to connect to the very essence of what makes us human. Songs like “Brooklyn,” and “Cannonball” capture the euphoric feeling of adventure and new love, while “London” and “Song for Bryan” tackle the nuances of heartbreak. In last year’s double EP, TheaLtErNaTeS Part 1 and 2, Emily began exploring the deep complexities of what it means to be in love and the healing journey that comes after loss. Her songwriting took on a larger life of its own as she continued to blossom into one of today’s most honest storytellers. Summer Nostalgia feels like a continuation of that growth, catapulting Emily into a world-building artist in her own right.
Emily’s inspiration for Summer Nostalgia poured out as she prepared to leave Los Angeles (where she had lived for the past seven years), to spend some time writing and recording in London. She now resides in Brooklyn, New York. “I missed the changing of seasons,” Emily says of her decision to move back to New York, where she’s originally from. “I like to be able to move around on my own. There are a lot of similarities between New York and London, and having that time there made me even more nostalgic for NewYork. This EP is about reflecting on your past, growing up, and reconnecting with those roots.”
A dreamy six-track collection, Summer Nostalgia is Emily’s most intimate project yet and moves from ruminating slow ballads to euphoric pop jams while telling a story of two people reconnecting after years of distance. “It felt like I was watching a movie,” Emily adds. “You zoom into these little vignettes, and then you'll zoom out a little bit to the present day, and then zoom back in. It felt like something I'd never done before in terms of having this interweaving timeline and flickering between present and the past, with memories coming in and out.”
