Description
Kiazii Fest is a vibrant two-day celebration spotlighting the heart of DC culture. Day 1 brings the energy with a concert at Songbyrd Music House featuring some of D.C's best underground artists, while day 2 offers a lively field day full of games, food, music and community vibes.
Oh Violet is an underground DC rock band composed of Zii Violet, Zoë Violet, Rocky Violet and DarnL Violet. The band is slowly becoming one of DC's leading rock bands in the underground DIY Punk scene. After the loss of their close friend and creative director, O.V decided to channel their feelings into an EP. For the duration of 10 months the band stayed to themselves and self recorded their EP "T." In the perspective of band leader and bass player, Zii, "The recording process felt more like a catharsis than anything else. There were points where we'd laugh, we'd cry, we'd not talk at all. But the one constant feeling in the room was the unspoken understanding that whatever we were producing was bigger than ourselves. At a certain point you do this to carry the legacy of the people you lost in the process and I guess we just wanted to honor that. Our friend believed in us on a level that we couldn't comprehend until recently and I think she'd appreciate what we came up with." With a genre fluid and eclectic approach to music creation, Oh Violet has been likened to Deftones, Nirvana, Loathe and more.
The Kiazii Collective is a group of Washington D.C based artists experimenting in the realms of hip hop, r&b and drum n bass. The collective is comprised of Evry1LuvsJodie, Twany and Astro Val.
SBM CEO is a hip hop artist from Washington DC. In his own words, “I lost my close friend and fellow rapper 7 years ago & his work ethic was one of the best I ever saw. After his passing I tried to be a manager to my fellow peers that rapped ( that is where the CEO in my name comes from) & I thought to myself maybe I can do this. Ever since then I let his work ethic be the inspiration that drives me to succeed in my music. I’m from Northwest DC & I rap for the struggle & hustle.
Slippychi is different. As an artist he taps into his experiences in the realms, to deliver a snippet of his perspective navigating in the underground. Growing up Slippy took in a diverse range of musical influences from the world around him, and after combining those influences with his belief in spirituality he delivers trance-like melodies over an alternative hip hop landscape. After releasing his 2019 debut song "Warfare" on Soundcloud, Slippy began to develop a consistent routine of experimenting with different sounds and styles while he crafted a sound specific to himself. Then in 2022 that sound that he was working on was shared with the world in his album "canwegetmuchhigher" and garnered Slippy a core following. However instead of tending to the fan's longing for more music, Slippychi went back into a state of exploring and learning about the physical and spiritual world. After a year of growing as a person, artist and leader, Slippychi returned in 2024 with a more focused version of the sound he created with his singles "Ringthebell", "CANIBEHONEST", and "healing body." Now in 2025 he's ready to enlighten the public on the journey he's endured.
