**The Jeff Evans Porkestra with special guests Garrett Freireich & The Syndrome live at Eddie's Attic!** Fresh off a spectacular Eddie’s Attic CD release performance, the Jeff Evans Porkestra is proud to announce their return to Eddie’s on Sat, Sept 13, with special guest Garrett Freireich and the Syndrome! When Pigs Dance follows Evans’ 2024 critically-acclaimed debut Porkestra EP Willow Pillow, about which esteemed American music reviewer Robert Christgau of Village Voice fame says, “I immediately fell in love with these singularly eccentric love songs… A MINUS” Evans, a long-time fixture on Atlanta’s roots Americana scene, formed his Porkestra after releasing 9 CDs with Chickens and Pigs. Working closely with co-producer/bassist Sean McPherson, Evans crafted Willow Pillow as a loose rumination on new-found romance. For When Pigs Dance, McPherson took production reins, choosing a handful of classics from the Chickens and Pigs catalog as well as selecting studio personnel. Evans added re-imagined arrangements, with greasy jump blues, violin-led acoustic folk, and solo piano backing replacing several traditional rock-styled tracks. Both Porkestra releases were crafted at McPherson’s East Atlanta Recording. “Sean’s great to work with,” says Evans. “He’s got loads of fantastic vintage gear, a great ear and a deep understanding of how I wish my records to sound. Often he knows what I’m looking for even before I figure it out myself.” The Jeff Evans Porkestra’s upcoming Eddie’s appearance will feature selections from both releases alongside new material being prepared for a full-length record scheduled for release in early 2026.
