FINISH FLAG
Finish Flag began life as the lo-fi bedroom pop solo project of songwriter Dexter Bush in 2015. The project morphed from the scrappy odd-pop of 'Hey Also I Love You' to ruminative and melodic indie rock for second album ‘Swimming Pools’, recorded in Hackney in late 2019 by producer Rich Mandell (Happy Accidents, Fresh, Me Rex). The new album, ‘Shelf Life’, was recorded entirely solo in Bush’s fathers home voice-over recording-booth. The album’s 13 songs meander around folk and country (on the upbeat ‘Sugary’), dreamy slowcore (on ‘Neutral Milk Airbnb’) and sunny indie pop (on the title track and ‘Passion Fruit’)
TEARS AT THE TABLE
Tears at the Table (TATT) are a five piece: Megan (vocals), Rebecca (guitar), and Satvi (bass) who all met through VOCAL GIRLS - the music platform for marginalised artists - and two guys, Mark and Karsten - (previously drummer of grunge duo Fraulein). They're based in London, but hail from all over; Megan and Becca are from different ends of the English countryside, Mark is from Derry in Ireland, Satvi grew up in Mumbai (India), and Karsten is from the Netherlands. The band bring together a range of influences to make moody alt/folk-rock inspired by the likes of The Cranberries, Blondie, Fontaines D.C., The Smiths, and Mazzy Star.
BELONGING
Veering from anthemic indie rock, orchestral epics to club-ready beats to delicate acoustic tracks, the first few singles by Belonging have been full of eclectic DIY charm.
With plays on Radio X and Amazing Radio and recent support slots with the likes of English Teacher, Coach Party and Personal Trainer, it’s all helped to refine a live show packed with catchy choruses, nervous energy and home-made slogan t-shirts.
