Description
Talismann’s “black hole rhythms” are some of the purest, undiluted techno in the modern electronic ecosystem. The German producer is a modern master of stark minimalism and pared-back power, typically issued into the world with a minimum of fuss on his own label. The Dutch artist puts the focus squarely on the tracks, and each of his releases offers a fresh iteration on techno’s core principles. His most recent “KLINIEK” series sees him developing a new side of his artistry, following his standout “Percussion” trilogy. Talismann is an artist whose natural evolutionary instinct can’t be suppressed. Flavia Laus returns. A resident of both Gegen and Tresor, her productions center a dark, subterranean power. Her recent “Reinos Elementales” EP translates to “Elemental Kingdoms,” and the tracks suggest a space of near-mythic power. Concrete Husband steps back into the booth to do what he does best. A classical flutist by day, Concrete Husband’s inclination beauty is matched only by his near demonic capacity for ferocity.
Analog Soul represents true school NY house. The duo of Dat Kat and Jackie Sommer are some of the city’s most steadfast selectors and DJs of exemplary clarity. Active in the NY underground for nearly a quarter century, Analog Soul’s commitment to the evergreen principles of rock-solid groove and unfakeable soul has made them indispensable. Serbian-born, LA-based Masha Mar returns to STUDIO for a dose of serious cosmic disco. As a selector, her devotion to unearthing hidden gems is more than apparent in her standout NTS and Dublab residencies. She’s also one of LA’s most important organizers, founding the “Take It Outside” series. Club Moment’s SPRKLBB completes the picture with a journey into the raw, mutant and, at times, soaring sides of house music.
