Description
Fadi Mohem is one of those techno purists who breathes new life into the genre by hewing close to its roots. With releases on such esteemed imprints as Klockworks, SPANDAU20 and Rekids, he’s taken the plunge on pulsating, elemental techno that envelops the audience. His tracks crackle and ripple with HD grit and an elegant poise. BASEMENT resident Beatrice returns. Playing with feverish urgency, her work takes cues from some of the genre’s most uncompromising names - Jeff Mills, Surgeon and their ilk come to mind - while adding her own signature. Beatrice takes you straight into the darkest corners and reveals infinities in the shadows. Let’s go. Elle Dee completes the lineup, matching the mood and intensity with a dose of staggering, deadly techno.
DJ Minx - “The First Lady of Wax” - headlines STUDIO. An artist with ties to techno’s most formative years, the Detroit producer/DJ performs with an authority that comes directly from her lived experience. A recent track lays out her vision: “we’re going back to the old school / acid house and vogues / we’re going back to the old school / techno and house under one roof.” Jason Kendig is one of STUDIO’s most consistent artists. He possesses an undeniable fluency with house’s most timeless forms and joyous iterations. To listen to a Jason Kendig set is to bathe in house music’s liquid groove and unabashed, even defiant claim to pure, embodied joy. J. Aria lands in the room for the first time. This should be special - the Dalston Superstore resident unleashes with total aplomb. First timers should consult their “Pussy Suite” EP from 2024. The three-tracker is bursting at the seams with liberated, loud-and-proud house swagger.
