Description
“I always make my music at night. This has been the case since the 80’s. I think it’s just because when I wake up in the morning, there is always a million things to do. The only quiet time is night. So I’ve fallen into this night routine for recording sounds. It’s also more in-line with my sound I guess. Maybe if I recorded during the day, the music wouldn’t be as “nocturnal sounding”. To me it sounds like 4am.”
– Rod Modell aka DeepChord, interview with Inverted Audio
The next installment in our Focus series, where we hone in on a specific strand in the dance music tapestry, puts the spotlight on dub techno. This atmospheric, echo-laden strain of techno originated in Berlin in the early 1990s, a hybrid of dub music from 1960s-1970s Jamaica and techno from 1980s Detroit, with Moritz von Oswald and Mark Ernestus of Basic Channel and Hard Wax credited as its originators.
Tonight, the legacy is represented by Detroit DJ and producer DeepChord, aka Rod Modell, an artist active in the scene for over 25 years with an expansive discography. The lineup is rounded out by some artists at the forefront of contemporary dub: a b2b between Eden Aurelius and Millia of Purelink, and Nowadays resident livwutang.

RSVP is $10 before 11pm and $15 before midnight.
An RSVP is good for one person. If you're bringing friends, please have them RSVP here as well.
We stop taking RSVPs at 6pm on the day of the party. In order to receive the RSVP discount, you must be at the ticket desk by the cutoff time and not just in line. It's wise to arrive early to make sure you're not standing in line when the time comes.
An RSVP does not guarantee entry. Sometimes parties do sell out, so if you want to be sure you'll get in, it's best to grab a ticket in advance.
