ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Muqata’a is an electronic musician and MC based in Ramallah, Palestine. Creating sounds using sampled material, field recordings, and electronic devices, the results range between harsh beats, abstract tones, and glitch. He has released several solo albums including; ‘Kamil Manqus’ (2021) on Hundebiss, ‘Inkanakuntu’ (2018) on Discrepant, ‘Dubt Al-Ghubar’ (2017) on Third Type Tapes, ‘La Lisana Lah’ (2017), and ‘Hayawan Nateq’ (2013). Muqata’a has composed several film scores, as well as scores for dance performances, and is now working on multiple collaborative and solo projects.
Originally from Rabat (Morocco) and based in Paris, Glitter55 plays intensely syncopated dj sets, boosted by breakbeats and gqom. If she often adds a classic chaabi to her performances, it is with kicks that she has made a place for herself alongside artists such as TSVI, BAMBOUNOU, SAMAA ABDULHADI, Joe Goddard and Kiddy Smile. After a few vocal featurings (w. Bawrut, Malcolm and Sebastien Forrester) released in 2020/2021 and BOTIA RITM in 2024, Glitter55 is spreading her own border-breaking tracks.
Parrish Smith is a Dutch DJ, record producer, vocalist, and visual artist with Surinamese, Chinese, and Indian roots. Parrish Smith captivates with music that is both extreme and hypnotic. Being well known for transcending genres to break down walls of prejudice. His unique sound travels through Punk, Rock, Techno, and Rhythmic Experimental music. Emotion and intensity drive his art, defying contemporary and current elitist techno biases. From working on film scores to club music, band productions and conceptual projects, he sees failure and taking risks as a step closer to achievement. Smith's mantra, “No elitism, no prejudice, no genre, no 4x4, hypnotic, tense, comprehensible, a state of mind.”, is a beautiful and true example of the punk mentality.
Julmud is a music producer/researcher and a sound engineer/designer based in Ramallah-Palestine that creates, composes, samples and combines sounds from across the globe to create his own non-generic form of music/sound. He has produced works and collaborated with different artists such as Al Nather, Muqata’a, Haykal, Baraari, Makimakkuk and Walaa Sbait among many other international artists. He is currently in the process of producing a variety of solo and collaborative works. His debut album ‘Tuqoos’ was released on March 30th 2022 on Bilna’es.
Baraghy is a Syrian/Kurdish Haarlem based electronic music producer that creates percussion-heavy Jungle/Breaks music, blending sampling, synth lines, and gritty sound textures. As a part of RAqS residency program (talent development) - Baraghy is currently crafting her debut show.
