Description
Esmé Patterson is on tour celebrating the release of her long-awaited 5th full-length album, Notes from Nowhere, a musical realm blooming with honesty and magic. Patterson’s latest release returns to the (super)natural world, evoking the chill of dead winter, parched-forest lightning, midday moons, and the cicada hum of summer swamps. Esmé’s intense performances arrest her audience in ears-open shared contemplation. Now living in the woods of Tennessee, the Colorado-born singer/songwriter never fails to give her devoted following what they want - something completely new yet somehow familiar.
L.A. based musician GracieHorse weaves stories into her songs. On L.A. Shit, her debut record with Wharf Cat, she takes us into the past half a decade of her life. We see her as a traveling nurse, living in big blue expanse of Wyoming, dancing with a man in a crisp white Stetson, eating chicken wings in a hazmat suit, commenting on how strange a place like Los Angeles can be, how loaded it is with wannabe cowboys and fast food restaurants. It’s a record of immaculate country music, the kind of stuff you’d put on blast in your truck as you drive down empty stretches of highway. It’s also a vulnerable record, full of lyrics about the intensity of being alive, all told with a sense of humor and self-awareness.
Emily Ritz is a musician and visual artist based in Los Angeles. After several years of touring in Bay Area bands Yesway and Honeycomb, Emily returned to her hometown in upstate NY where she began her solo project. In her 2018 album 'Pattern Recess’, classic elements of jazz and R&B can be heard though Ritz's sound is enticingly off-kilter due to her unusual melodic choices and inventive use of electronic manipulation. She uses her voice to weave complex harmonies and avant-garde patterns while delivering poignant lyrics. Emily released her sophomore record 'In Love Alone' in 2021. It explores the fundamental duality of existence, playing loneliness against catharsis, longing against healing, and solitude against love itself. Arranged and produced in Northern CA by Luke Temple, this is a record of roomy and expansive neo-soul with a psychedelic pop twist. She has since released two self-produced singles and is working on her next album under the moniker Tenderoni.
