White Denim is a freewheeling American rock and roll band formed in Austin, Texas in 2006. Over nearly 20 years and 13 albums the band has continued to energetically explore new territory, consistently delivering a musically sophisticated and inventive product both on record and on stage. James Petralli and his exceptional group put the music first. You will not see a better live band if you live to be a million.

Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band is the eclectic brainchild of musical innovation crafted by composer, bandleader, and multiinstrumentalist virtuoso Nolan Potter. Founded in 2018, the group flourished within the Austin, Texas live music scene as they captured a sound rife with raw passion and palpable symphonic scholarship. Their debut album Nightmare Forever (2019) garnered widespread praise, with John Dwyer of Osees lauding their work as “conceptual in feel
and flow” with a “war machine duality that surpasses expectations and fucking crushes.”Following the release of their sophomore album Music is Dead (2021), the ensemble experienced one of several lineup changes in Spring 2022. The reinvigorated lineup cultivates an expanded range of sound that is bolstered by the experimentalism and jazz specializations of its members: Dillon Fernandez (Holy Wave), Raze Regal (Once and Future Band), and Sam Blomgren
(Dodo).
Potter has hosted two vinyl releases with Castle Face Records, whom the group were affiliated from 2018-2023. Additionally, they have been partnered with the booking agency Anniversary Group since 2021 and have previously done releases with Mas Music Records,
Spaceflight Records, and UK label Library of the Occult. Potter’s latest offering “The Perils of Being Trapped Inside a Head” (2024 Spaceflight Records) synthesizes many of the group’s influences and makes it all very personal for our post-pandemic society. Described by Chris at Consuming the Tangible as “a lovely, borderline-unclassifiable slab of great rock and pop, absorbing a myriad of styles in the name of confessional, DIY music that resonates with me just as much as his previous work.”While the creation of home-recorded releases reigns supreme in this project, their live show has
spread nationally with tours across the West Coast in 2019, 2021, and accompanying Osees on tours in 2021 and 2023. The Nightmare Band has opened for acclaimed bands Kikagaku Moyo and Drugdealer, along with joining lineups for various festivals such as Levitation, Treefort, Milwaukee Psych Fest, and South by Southwest. Another notable contribution was to the Dungeons and Dragons official vinyl release Spelljams (2022) alongside Reggie Watts, Mononeon, and Red Fang. They have been featured in Shindig Magazine, Prog Magazine, It’s Psychedelic Baby! Magazine, New Sounds Magazine, The Austin Chronicle, and more. With a treasure trove of backlogged music to record, the ethos of Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band is regenerating into an auteurist golden era.
“We really only care about making music, talking about music, and geeking out about every aspect of it. All the best things that have ever happened to the band throughout its various incarnations happened because we focused on the musical work and not the extraneous, new- fangled trappings of DIY culture.” — Nolan Potter, Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band
